THE REID ROOMS // LISA + AMEL

So these two were our second ever couple to book our film and photo package that we launched late last year but they did end up being our first ever film and photo couple. I (Jennie) first met them a few months later for their pre-wedding shoot at Lisa’s stables in Epping Forest. It was clear to me within a few snaps that these two were madly in love and lived for their precious fur babies Smartie and Bohdi.

Fast forward six months and we are at The Reid Rooms on the outskirts of Chelmsford, Essex for their wedding on a very sunny day. Reid Rooms is surrounded by beautiful countryside with farm equipment and outbuildings which was somewhere we just had to explore for their couple portraits. Anything industrial, rundown, warehouse or old and I am in my element I love how it creates a loneliness vibe just two people in an area that looks like it has been untouched for some time.

The day started with Lisa’s preparations in the venues cottage with her bridesmaids, flower girl and Mum all enjoying the relaxed atmosphere with a touch of anticipation for the day. We were told that Amel would be arriving with some close members of his family in a Mercedes. His late father loved Mercedes so it was only right to not just arrive in style but also in a car that he would have approved of. Upon Amel’s arrival we were able to  capture his final preparations which included an heirloom pocket watch from Lisa’s side of the family and also a gift from Lisa that held great significance. A button hole clip with a picture of Amel’s father. A present that was not only accepted with grace but also worn with pride.

Well Lisa was not the only one with a surprise up her (non existent wedding dress sleeve) because Amel also planned something that Lisa could have only dreamed of. As she had planned to have everything at the one venue so there was no need for transport but Amel made it happen with a beautiful horse and carriage for a ride with her bridesmaids and then again later a a newly married couple after their ceremony. To say she was shocked is an understatement.

As guests started to arrive it was time to capture the remainder of the day in a natural and honest way, those little moments and glances, the tears of happiness and pride and the pure excitement of the day that has been planned to give them the day they have always wanted. It was truly an honour to be part of their day and remember them as our first film and photo couple.
