We had the absolute pleasure of being asked to film Agnieszka & Andrew’s wedding day, not only was it beautiful but it also gave us a chance to visit a part of the UK we have never explored before.
First I must say how stunning Helmsley is and definitely worth a visit for those who have not been there before. As soon as we come off the motorway and started driving through the beautiful countryside, windy roads and a few big hills 🙂 we knew we were in for a great wedding.
But before we tell you about their big day lets take a step back and introduce you. Agnieszka & Andrew met at work in 2008 but did not become a couple until 2012. These two colleagues became friends which then naturally become a wonderful relationship. Fast forward 7 years Andrew found himself shopping for that very special ring and decided to pop the question on his actual birthday. When I asked Agnieszka about the proposal this is what she had to say…
…”He said that before we head off, we will go to see his parents however when we got to his parents house, he just drove past it heading to a place nearby called Almscliffe Crag (we went there on one of our first dates). At that point, I’ve realized that he’s up to something. While we were still driving, he’s asked me to open his birthday cards and among them was an envelope, which turned out to have a little blue box inside. I’ve guessed that this must be for me. When I was opening it, we have arrived at the Crag and Andy got out of the car and proposed in a muddy fieldJ After that we went to Helmsley where we had booked the Black Swan Hotel for the weekend and celebrated!”
So as you can see not only a perfect engagement but also set in a place that was perfect for their big day. Agnieszka & Andrew decided that himself church (situated next to the Black Swan Hotel) was a perfect setting to hold their ceremony as it reminded so much of their engagement. The reception was recommended to them by a friend and WOW what a recommendation. The Pheasant Hotel is tucked away just a few minutes away from Helmsley church. Decorated to absolute perfection and a terrace over looking the village duckpond where the drinks reception and speeches were held.
Agnieszka & Andrew wanted a traditional wedding somewhere in the Yorkshire countryside, with some Polish traditions included with a relaxed atmosphere where their quests could feel like they were just having a nice weekend away in a great place, with good food and beautiful surroundings…and that is certainly what they got. Even though we were actually working we did not want to leave.
Congratulations guys, we hope you love your film and we wish you all the best for your future together as Mr & Mrs Bartlett.
Love the UV team xxxx
